SAS Ranked #1 International School in Shanghai by Hurun

Shanghai American School has earned the distinction of #1 international school for foreign passport holders in Shanghai in the 2025 Hurun Education Top International Schools in China ranking. With this recognition, SAS continues to solidify its reputation as one of the region’s most respected schools. 

 

The rankings were drawn on peer evaluations from those who know schools best – principals, senior leaders, and experts across the education industry – and considered factors such as graduate destinations, extracurricular opportunities, and school reputation. This year, Hurun also incorporated certifications from international education accreditation bodies such as Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS) as a reference.  

In addition to this local recognition, SAS also earned a spot on the HSBC Hurun Education Global High Schools 2025 list, placing our century-old school alongside some of the most respected non-public high schools around the world.
