SAS Graduates Provide Advice to Current Students
Every January, recent Shanghai American School graduates from all over the world return to visit old friends and beloved educators, roaming hallways that will always feel like a second home. Thirty of them took part in a beloved tradition, the Alumni Panel, where they shared everything from hard-learned wisdom to helpful tips and tricks with high school Eagles soon to follow in their footsteps. This year, they also took time to give SAS parents advice and answer the burning questions on our parents’ minds. After all, who understands the concerns of Eagles – and Eagle parents – better than other Eagles?
Our panelists reflected the diversity of the SAS student experience. Coming from schools large and small, from metropolitan hubs like New York, London and Singapore to small college towns like New Haven and Madison, with a variety of majors and extracurricular pursuits. Their willingness to share candidly combined with the breadth of their experiences meant that everyone in attendance walked away with relevant and helpful advice. Alumni, students and parents were reminded that the bonds fostered at SAS remain strong no matter how far our Eagles fly – a true testament to the strength of the SAS community.
