Introducing Our Newest Alumni: The Class of 2025
This past Sunday, 238 graduates walked across the stage and into the next chapter of their lives. As they did, they carried with them more than just diplomas, they carried the spirit of Shanghai American School.
The Class of 2025 brings our mission to life: they pursue learning with passion, act with integrity and compassion, and show the courage to live their dreams. They’ve learned to think critically, act ethically, and embrace diversity, not just as values but as lived experiences.
This year’s student speakers reflected on their journeys and offered heartfelt advice to their graduating peers - reminders of what it means to grow, to persevere, and to care deeply.
Valedictorian Ethan Jin from Pudong shared, “What defines us isn’t the absence of struggle, but how we respond.” His words capture the grit and growth that shaped this class.
And from Puxi, Senior Student Speaker Teresa Chen offered a powerful truth: “Nothing you ever do will make you enough, because you were born complete.” Her message was a bold invitation to embrace joy, presence, and self-worth - not for what we achieve, but for who we are.
This class found meaning not just in milestones, but in moments: laughter in the commons, late-night rehearsals, and pep rallies. Now, they take with them the courage to explore, the skills to thrive, and the vision to shape a better world.
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
