Meet Andy Vaughan: Puxi High School’s New Principal

There’s a new Eagle in the high school hallways: Andy Vaughan. Andy is Shanghai American School Puxi’s new high school principal, bringing with him 26 years in education and a career that has taken him from New Zealand to the Philippines and, most recently, Thailand. With two master’s degrees, a background in science, physical education, health, and outdoor education, and experience as a teacher, department head, athletic director, and dean of students, Andy has a wide-ranging perspective on how students learn, grow, and find their footing both in and beyond the classroom. We gave our high schoolers the chance to ask him a few questions and get to know him better. And science students, don’t be surprised if you see him popping into your classes from time to time!
