Class of 2026 Eagles Take Flight
With universities around the world kicking off a new school year, we’re celebrating the Shanghai American School Class of 2026 once again as they take begin their next chapters as alumni! After years of hard work, curiosity, and determination, our students received over 1,000 offers from incredible universities. From those offers, our recent alumni made their final decisions and are ready to take their next steps at colleges and universities across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
From nearly 90 institutions, SAS graduates have selected universities that reflect both the global outlook of our community and the wide range of interests they have developed during their time at SAS. Among those destinations are some remarkable achievements. Fifteen students will attend Ivy League institutions, while 90 will attend U.S. News Top 30 National Universities. Thirteen students will attend U.S. News Top 30 Liberal Arts Colleges, and 58 are headed to universities ranked among the QS World University Rankings Top 50.
Of course, rankings tell only part of the story, and choosing what comes next is deeply personal. For some students, the decision may have come down to a particular program or academic opportunity. This year, Eagles are heading to renowned specialized programs including film and theatre at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, music at Berklee College of Music, and architecture and design programs at Cornell University, Rice University, and Washington University in St. Louis. Others will pursue art through the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts or music business at NYU Steinhardt. For others, it may have been the community, the location, or the chance to experience something entirely new. Their choices reflect the wide range of interests within this graduating class.
Many Eagles have already unpacked dorm rooms, met new classmates, navigated unfamiliar campuses, and begun building lives in new cities and countries. And for some members of the Class of 2026, their plans are still unfolding as they await additional university decisions, prepare for a gap year, or explore other opportunities before beginning the next stage of their education.
The Class of 2026 has already given us plenty to celebrate, and their journeys are only beginning. We look forward to following where those journeys lead, hearing their stories as alumni, and welcoming them back to SAS in the years ahead.
Congratulations, Class of 2026!
