Aquatics at SAS

When it comes to collaboration at SAS, one of the strongest examples is our swim program. Our aquatics are cross-river and cross-divisional, covering both the competitive and the curricular. Participation in swimming is mandatory for students from Pre-K 4 through Grade 10, and Grade 11 and 12 students can take an elective in lifeguarding and/or swim teaming with Red Cross certification.

Our teaching/coaching staff is certified with American Swim Coaches Association, Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association and American Red Cross. And our students typically dominate the Shanghai Swim League, with some moving on to swim for university teams post-SAS.

Which begs the question: Does SAS stand for Shanghai American School, or Serious About Swimming?

When competing outside Shanghai, our two campuses compete as one.
Our swim program traditions are worthy of celebration.
