APAC Swim at SAS
Shanghai American School recently welcomed the Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) Swim Championships to our campus, where Puxi’s boys captured the APAC team championship and the girls secured second place, continuing the Aqua Eagles’ tradition of excellence in the pool. Pudong’s boys also delivered a strong showing, earning the APAC bronze medal as a team. Hosting APAC Swim gave our community the opportunity to showcase not only our world-class facilities but also the energy and pride that define the Aqua Eagles swim program.
Beyond the top team performances, the Aqua Eagles also delivered podium finishes across individual and relay events. Across both campuses, SAS swimmers earned an impressive 40 medals, including 11 gold, 14 silver, and 15 bronze, while rewriting the record books with five new APAC records. This showing reinforced their reputation as one of the region’s premier swim programs.
This year’s performance wasn’t a one-off, though. Year after year, SAS swimmers set the pace in APAC competition and build a reputation for depth, resilience, and relentless commitment to improvement. For some athletes, the journey continues at the collegiate level, with Eagle swimmers going on to compete at many top universities including Harvard and Brown. The Aqua Eagles program is one that continues to shape student-athletes long after they leave the starting blocks.
