In an Orff-Schulwerk classroom, children make discoveries about music through active play with the elements of rhythm, pitch, timbre, dynamic, tempo, and form. In this workshop we will be exploring the Orff process with Doug as our guide and will experience Doug’s personal twist and influence on the Orff legacy.
This workshop is geared for music specialists working with elementary age children, but it will also be relevant to teachers working with both younger and older students, as well as classroom teachers or teaching assistants.
Doug Goodkin is an internationally recognized teacher of Orff Schulwerk, a dynamic approach to music education for all ages, having taught courses in over 39 countries worldwide. Still working with children at The San Francisco School, where he has taught since 1975, he uses music as a vehicle to engage the mind, open the heart and affirm our collective humanity. Doug is the author of many books on Orff pedagody.
