This coming November, SAS will host Learning2Asia, a nonprofit conference that was initially created by international school teachers in 2007. With their teaching colleagues in mind, Learning2 provides unique and collaborative learning opportunities for teachers throughout the world.
If you are you an international school teacher, this conference is one of the best professional learning opportunities available. Here are some reasons why should join us for this event:
Creating Solutions
The educational team behind the conference invites all international school educators to “come and learn how a conference for educators, by educators, can help you think critically about the decade to come.” But what makes this conference so special?
For 10 years Learning2 has provided a unique professional learning community for international school teachers to innovate, engage, collaborate, illustrate, navigate, network, and connect. This historic 10th anniversary conference will center around illuminating the next decade in education. But what makes this conference so unique is that teachers will not only be learning the answers to this broad question, but will help create solutions and answers as well.
The Unconference
Although it’s called a conference, Learning2 goes far beyond the setting where learning is centered around a speaker on stage. In fact, all of the sessions are being proposed while the conference is happening. This is an example of Learning2’s ‘unconference’, an opportunity for you as a teacher to take charge of your learning.
Hang Out with Your Cohorts
This year at Learning2, cohorts of participants will be formed and organized by curriculum and common interest groupings. This allows for the creation of distinctive ‘common spaces’ for participants to share their experiences and extend their learning with those who share their professional background and interests.
Workshops and Extended Sessions
Hour-long participant-led workshops are an integral part of any Learning2 conference. The Extended Sessions take place on Friday and Saturday and aim to foster creativity while focusing on the practical guidance you can apply on your first day back from the conference.
