At SAS we care about the wellbeing of our students, teachers, and families. Our programs provide the framework for helping individuals and our community flourish.
We are committed to creating and maintaining a caring school where all are valued and possess a sense of belonging and security. As a school community, we strive to respond with sensitivity to the academic, social, and cultural diversity of our students and their families. We play our part in helping our students become contributing global citizens.
Many parents are heavily involved in our PTSA organization that helps bring together our community of parents, teachers, and students. Through fundraising activities, the PTSA hosts social events for parents, teachers, and the students to promote school spirit and pride. The PTSA also helps welcome new families to the SAS community.
We are building a strong alumni organization to help maintain and stay in touch with our community of students, parents, and teachers.
We have several social media channels for our community to stay abreast of all that is happening at SAS.
SAS Parent Living Their Dream
SAS Parent, Jeffrey Gao , is off to San Francisco to pursue a lifelong dream in composition. His eldest daughter, Vienna, is in grade 5, and his youngest Aria is in grade 1.
He was admitted to the graduate school of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Last year, Jeffery performed at the Shanghai Center for the Performing Arts, a premier of his composition for Viola, Piano, and Bass Clarinet. SAS encourages the entire community to pursue their passions as part of the school's vision.
"My 9th grader came to Shanghai kicking and screaming. Within one month of being at SAS, she wanted to stay and graduate here. The SAS community is extremely welcoming. Both the teachers, students and parents made each member of our family feel comfortable and helped us quickly adapt to live in China."
