Welcome to Shanghai American School!

SAS has a very large and active PTSA - Parent, Teacher, and Student Association. The PTSA is a volunteer organization that supports and enhances the school community through social, educational and fund raising activities.  There are a number of opportunities for parents eager to be involved in their children's education. PTSA runs and operates a Publishing Center for student writing, an Art Ambassador program that emphasizes art appreciation, and First Friends/Morning Coffee committees that help newcomers feel welcome at SAS. Each year the PTSA sponsors a huge International Fair , the SAS Booster Club and monthly Treat Days with baked goods for the kids - as well as many other activities.

Please stop by for one of our monthly “coffee talks.”  Please check the Parent Talk for location and topics of discussion. These functions are a great way to meet other parents and to learn something new about education, parenting, or expat life.  We also encourage you to join us for our monthly PTSA meetings, where we strive to maintain SAS’s reputation for excellence and to ensure a positive experience for all. 

Another great way to make wonderful new friends, to become more familiar with SAS, and to make a positive impact on campus is to get involved with the PTSA team and one of our many exciting projects.  No matter how much or how little time you can give, you can make a difference!
