Welcome to Shanghai American School Association!
Among international schools in China, Shanghai American School boasts the unique distinction of having a very active alumni association. Made up of nearly 700 former students and pre-1949 graduates of SAS, the association's main purpose is to maintain and renew relationships among alumni. It does this by publishing a quarterly newsletter, SASA News, as well as by holding frequent gatherings in the United States, most recently in Boston and San Francisco.
This remarkable group has remained loyal to SAS and is very supportive of its resurgence since the U.S. resumed ties with China in the early 1980s. Not only are members keen to build relationships with current SAS students, both formally and informally, they have also support the school financially in a number of ways.

Class Representatives
The Shanghai American School Association has established a volunteer network of regional and class representatives. The role of the class representative is to encourage their classmates to stay connected, help locate "lost" alumni, as well as organize milestone reunions. Due to Shanghai American School's long-history, finding representatives for every class is a daunting task. The Representatives page contains a list of volunteers who have agreed to serve as class representatives for the pre-1949 graduates, but we hope to also find at least one person for each of the graduating classes from 1995 onwards. If you are interested in serving as a class representative, or can suggest someone from your class who might be an appropriate representative (you don't need to have graduated from SAS), please contact Craig Trygstad, Director of Development, Communications and Marketing.
