Admissions / Re-Enrollment Process

The Re-Enrollment Packet (pdf), detailing our new mandatory re-enrollment procedures, was sent to all returning students for the 2008-2009 school year. The new re-enrollment process was established to better serve our entire community, to comply with new government regulations and to iinsure that we have complete and accurate information on file for every student.

At a recent meeting with officials of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission (SHMEC), attended by all international schools in Shanghai, we were reminded that all regulations must be observed and related documentation must be accurately maintained. All student documentation must be updated annually. SHMEC officials will review student files each school year, verifying that proper residency and visa documents for each student are on file. This government review will begin in October 2008. (For specific information on the new requirements, see below.)

We have prepared a re-enrollment packet that includes the details and necessary forms. In order to complete the re-enrollment process, please:

  1. Make photocopies of the valid identification page of the passports for both parents.
  2. Make photocopies of the valid identification page of the passport for each student.
  3. Make photocopies of the valid visas and/or residency permits for both parents.
  4. Make photocopies of the valid visa and/or residency permit for each student.
  5. Sign the re-enrollment agreement (pdf) for each student.
  6. Update the medical form (pdf) for each student.
  7. Complete a physical examination for each student.

We ask that you return the photocopies of all required documentation in the same envelope – one for each student – along with the signed re-enrollment agreement. Documentation may be dropped in the provided box located in each school divisional office or sent to the Admission/Registrar Office on either campus. This documentation must be received no later than the last day of school, Thursday, June 12, 2008.

The updated medical form and completed physical examination documents must be returned in the enclosed envelope to the student(s) divisional nurse no later than the first day of school, Thursday, August 21, 2008.

To expedite the re-enrollment process, please write the student’s ID Number and Family Code in the designated area on each page. If you are unsure of your child's ID number, please contact the Office of Admission.
