Transportation Program

Overview of Transportation Services at SAS

SAS contracts with an independent bus company to provide bus transportation for SAS students. The bus service is entirely optional and is provided based on mutual agreement. SAS buses currently service around 2500 students on a daily routine and each route is designed based on safety and efficient travel time.

SAS Bus Services is provided based on a point-to-point (not door-to-door) pick-up and drop-off location. To ensure a comfortable and effective bus service for majority bus riders, SAS may not be able to provide the bus service to families who reside in remote and/or extreme distant locations. They may be requested to arrange their own transport or to travel to the nearest SAS existing bus stop point.  In order to service the majority of families attending SAS, bus routes and/or pick-up time may change each year in order to meet the needs of all families. Please consult with the transportation department annually to confirm routes.

Activity buses are available for students in grades three and above who participate in after-school activities. The activity buses provide service to several pre-determined drop-off locations. Please check with each campus’ respective Bus Office/Activity Dept for more details

Bus Transportation Registration
After the student(s) is accepted, parents will receive an email from the Office of Admission with the parent’s username and password to log onto the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Parents will need to log on from the website by clicking on the PowerSchool tab from the homepage or log on by clicking here http://powerschool.saschina.org/public/.

Parents must click on the Icon for Transportation, read the instructions and agree to the Waiver/ Indemnity and transportation rules for each child(ren). Parents can easily switch between children to complete this process for each one. Please make sure your address and contact information is correct before finalizing the transportation registration. At any time you can make changes to your contact information under the Demographic Update Icon in PowerSchool. It will take 24 to 48 hours for the changes to be confirmed by the Office of Admission.

Bus Assignments
Once you have completed the registration process online and submitted it,the SAS Bus Coordinator will contact you via email with all bus information including the assigned bus number, bus operator’s contact information and the pick-up and drop-off information. Please make sure to complete the transportation registration prior to the start of school, because the transportation company needs ten business days to finalize all transportation arrangements.
